Dial a Lift Service
This service is for individual members who live in the rural areas of Armagh and are rurally or socially isolated or excluded from participation in social activities due to lack of public or other forms of transport. This service may be used for local activities including shopping, visiting, recreational or social activities, health appointments etc.
Operating Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm
Fare: Depending on the miles travelled & if you have a Translink Smartpass
We provide this service using our fleet of 16 and 9 seater minibuses, volunteer cars and a taxi operator.
To use this service the passenger must become a member – which is £20 per year.

Disability Action Transport Scheme (DATS)
This service provided by Disability Action is for individual members who live in Armagh City who have transport difficulties.
This is a membership service and the criteria includes:
A) Registered Blind
B) 80+ years old
C) Disability living allowance (mobility)
D) Disability living allowance (care)
E) Attendance Allowance (care)
If you meet any of these criteria, you should call Diability Action in Belfast on 028 9029 7880 for a application pack.
This service may be used for shopping, visiting, recreational or social activities, health appointments etc.
We provide this service in the Armagh area on DATS behalf using our fleet of 16 and 10 seater minibuses volunteer social cars and a taxi operator.
Operating Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm & Saturday – Sunday 4 Hour Window
Fares: £2.50 each journey within the town boundaries & 50p per mile if travelling further afield
Group Hire
We operate 3 fully accessible 17-seater minibus and 2 fully accessible 10-seater minibuses which are owned by ART.
The minibuses are available for hire to member groups with the option of “with-driver” or “volunteer-driver” at an affordable rate.
This service accommodates registered member groups, ranging from, elderly, youth groups, young mothers, church groups, etc.
Operating Hours: No restriction – 7 days a week

MIDAS Training Driver
For member groups who wish to provide their own driver so that they may “Volunteer-Drive” ART’s minibuses we offer MiDAS Training.
What is MiDAS?
MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. It is a membership based scheme that has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses. Armagh Rural Transport is the organisation who delivers MIDAS training in Armagh. We run courses throughout the year which consist of one evening covering minibus driving theory in a classroom environment. Then all students will complete a 1 hour practical examination out on the road in one of our 16 seater minibuses with our instructor. MiDAS membership lasts for 4 years.
Who is it aimed at?
MiDAS is applicable to any organisation operating or using minibuses. Member organisations include sports clubs, youth groups, community groups, church groups and a range of individuals who want to help out in the community by driving a minibus. If a driver has a D1 category on driving license then the driver can drive up to a 16 seater minibus provided they have passed MIDAS.
What will I gain from completing MiDAS?
Improved driving skills, a nationally recognised driving qualification which will help employability and the ability to drive a 16 seater minibus hired from Armagh Rural Transport or other provider.
How much will it cost?
The MiDAS qualification costs £50 per person which includes both the theory session and the practical driving test.
The fee is payable on booking a place on the course and is non-refundable.
